Abstract

This workshop constitutes the necessary training for current HERDSA Fellows to join the College of Assessors, and thereby be eligible to assess Associate Fellow applications under the guidance of the portfolio lead. Participants will examine the application process and engage with an assessment/moderation process to hone their assessing skills. The workshop will use actual, de-identified, sections of previous successful applications, and discussion will be guided around the criteria and assessment standards. This workshop would also be very beneficial for current mentors to value-add their mentoring skills. Each participant will be paid AU$150 for their participation, and after completion of the workshop, each new assessor will be added to a closed Facebook site.
